On-Demand Audio Description for Streaming Video

In addition to searchable, scrolling transcripts and on-screen captions, a new on-demand audio description service enables libraries to accommodate visually impaired users of Academic Video Online and ProQuest One Academic. We are proud to be the first academic video platform to include this feature.

Requesting Audio Description

If a student requests an accommodation, here’s how to enable audio description:

  • 1. Email Sarah Brennan, Academic Video Online product manager, with details.
  • 2. ProQuest will work to add audio description to your requested title within two weeks at no charge. Some limits may apply.
  • 3. Once live, all Academic Video Online customers will have access to the audio description.

ProQuest is committed to making our products accessible to all individuals, in conformance with both:

  • • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) from: The W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
